Past Years Missions

Our 1998 to 2001 mission trips were facilitated by "Adventures in Life Ministry"

2004 Mission ~ Sierra Service Project to Arizona

SSP's summer in the Tselani Valley are of the Navajo Nation was one of the most memorable in many years. The setting was remote and austerely beautiful. Our hosts were open and welcoming. The work was challenging, as groups poured concrete floors, replaced roofs and ceilings, build ramps and painted. The worksites were isolated from one another along rutted reservation roads. The weather gave us fantastic displays of wind and lightening, and the mesas provided the perfect spot for singing and worship. It was a summer that will not be forgotten by participants or staff.

2003 Mission ~ Duck Valley Paiute/Shoshone Reservation

On August 2 nd five high school youth and two adults left for the Duck Valley Paiute/Shoshone reservation in Nevada and Idaho. We joined 35 other campers from Sacramento and Malibu, California for Sierra Service Project We split into 6 groups and re-roofed 4 houses, built a wheelchair ramp and deck at one house and painted another. This was the final week of the project and we finished all but the trim painting on one house. We stayed at the Owyhee combined school and enjoyed great fellowship and pride in our accomplishments. Check back for pictures soon. We hope we have a larger group next year so if you are in 8 th grade or high school contact to join us.

Mission 2001 ~ Dios es Amor

This year we helped to build a new church in the Colonia Porticos area of Ensenada. The church is called "Dios es Amor", God is Love, and has been meeting for about 5 years with 40 to 60 worshipers. Our task was to install roof rafters.
