In 2001, the vestry moved to commit to donating 10% of fundraising monies to outreach. Each year organizations will be suggested by the outreacch committee to receive the funds from each fundraiser.

For 2007 the outreach tithe will be designated as follows:

• St. Patrick's Day Dinner, Tuesday BBQ in the Park and Holiday Bazaar ~ 5% to Habitat for Humanity and 5% to the Heifer Project
• Rummage Sale ~ Youth Arts Activity Center
• Book and Bake sale ~ We will designate this for emergency relief or some immediate need

For 2005/2006 the organizations benefitted were:

• March ~ St. Patrick's Day Dinner ~ Episcopal Relief and Development Fund
• May ~ Rummage Sale ~ Youth Arts Activity Center
• June ~ Election Day BBQ ~ Santa Maria Urban Mission
• July ~ Tuesday BBQ in the Park ~ Loaves and Fishes
• October ~ Book and Bake sale ~ 100% of the proceeds from this sale benefitted our missioners
• November ~ Election Day BBQ ~ Santa Maria Urban Mission
• December ~ Holiday Bazaar ~ American Friends of the Diocese of Jerusalem

Loaves & Fishes Bring non-perishible food, money and baby items to church with you for the Loaves and Fishes basket. Your donations continue to support this community outreach that started in our basement. Call the office to help with delivering the items to Loaves and Fishes.

ECHO - El Camino Homeless Shelter

St. Luke's continues to support ECHO by providing and serving meals on the first Monday of each month from 4:00 to 6:30. Contact the Kathy Hansen to volunteer. Overnight volunteers are also needed to man the shelter.
